Ashwagandha, scientifically known as Withania somnifera, is a revered herb with a rich history in traditional medicine worldwide. Known as “Ashwagandha” in Sanskrit, its name translates to “smell of horse” due to its distinct odor and reputation for imparting vitality. In Hindi, it is also called “Asagandha” or “Kanaje.” In other languages, it is known as “Winter Cherry” in English, “Ginseng Indien” in French, and “Schlafbeere” in German, highlighting its global recognition.
